The company also disclosed that the weighted average remaining life on those contracts is 3.2 years.

Amazon’s overall ad revenue increase isn’t likely to level off soon. EMarketer forecasts increases of more than 50 percent per year through at least 2020, with a 7 percent share of all US digital ad revenue by then.

Amazon’s carbon footprint is more complex than other big corporations because of its vast and varied business. But the two arms of the company with the biggest power needs — cloud services and package delivery — have competitors making bigger strides toward reducing their environmental impacts.
